THE ATELIER @ THEATERLAB
Vulcan Theatre Presents:
AARON
Written & Produced by Ryan Marcone
Directed by Allyson Musmeci
Performed by Ryan Marcone & Ginnie Lee House
AARON delves into the story of Harold Cohen, an artist wrestling with his groundbreaking creation — AARON — and Sally Baker, a journalist whose encounter with Cohen and AARON leads her on a journey of rediscovery and confrontation. Set in the backdrop of a cluttered artist’s studio in the 1970’s, AARON explores the essence of creativity, the fear of obsolescence, and the eternal question of what it means to be truly human in an increasingly digital world.

MEET THE ARTISTS

Ryan Marcone (Harold Cohen / Playwright) Ryan is a New York City based actor and playwright, as well as the Artistic Director / Founder of Vulcan Theatre Company. A Stratford native, Ryan is thrilled to be bringing his work back home for the first time in fifteen years, and that this new script is finally seeing the light of day. Acting credits include Macbeth (Macbeth/Lady Macbeth), The Picture of Dorian Gray (James Vane), The Veritas Times (Garrett Richmond), The Island Boys (Jonah Kane), and long ago he appeared in Square One’s production of Indian Blood as part of their 2008-2009 Season. Previous written works include The Veritas Times, The Island Boys, A Number Between, and One Last Train Til Morning, among others. He’d like to thank everybody for their support at today’s reading, and is looking forward to bringing AARON to full production in NYC with Vulcan later this year.

Ginnie Lee House (Sally Baker) Ginnie is a performer, producer, writer, and all-around artistic multi-hyphenate based in New York City. She is delighted and honored to be working alongside Ryan in this new work. Ginnie is also the co-founder of Bee F^#%!ng Nice Productions, a media company rooted in producing eccentric works with a unique point of view. Currently, she is writing and producing an unconventional trilogy of short films, all to be released by the end of the year. She’d like to thank her motley crew of friends, ghosts, and gremlins for getting her here today.

Allyson Musmeci (Director) Ally is first and foremost grateful to the writer for having involved her in this lovely piece, so long in the making. An alumni of College of Charleston’s Theatre program, as well as Atlantic Acting School, she is excited to be applying her well-rounded skills to her dedication to directing and storytelling. As a designer, performer, and all around multi-hyphenate herself, to watch Ryan’s growth, fulfillment, and accomplishment with this piece has been a treat, a delight, and a privilege. You can catch Ally’s most recent projects here today, as well as through a tri-film circuit being presented in the year 2024 under Bee F^#%!ng Nice Productions.
