for New Flooring
THEATERLAB AWARDED OVER $13,000 IN CAPITAL FUNDING
New York, NY – Theaterlab announced today a grant award totaling $13,065 from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to support the organization’s purchase and installation of new vinyl dance flooring. This grant is part of a capital project funding announcement by NYSCA, which totals over $82 million to 132 arts and culture facilities across New York State.
Located at its West 36th Street home in the heart of Manhattan’s Council District 3, this new flooring will add longevity to the former Garment District factory turned performance space, preserving its character while providing a safe, durable, and professional surface.
KEEPING GARMENT DISTRICT AFFORDABLE FOR ARTISTS
Theaterlab Managing Director Andy Lynn said, “This investment significantly reduces long-term maintenance costs, allowing us to keep things affordable. The upgrade arrives at an exciting moment of renewed support for the arts in our neighborhood under new Council Member Carl Wilson – whose commitment to cultural infrastructure helps ensure that affordability and sustainability go hand in hand.”
