AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT
At whatever stage of creation you are, we want to hear your project. Prepare to pitch us your most compelling unfinished work – we want to see what haunts you, what won’t let you go.
For 19 years, we’ve been the gathering place for inquisitive audiences ready for what’s next in performance.
(Against all odds) as our 20th anniversary nears — we’re inviting three daring solo performers to help mark this milestone and set their work before our audience.
Artists with highly experimental, combustible, and pliable work will be selected for the opportunity to develop their performance and receive its first ever showing as a catalyst for future development.
We’re looking for early, never-before-seen experimental work that tests the boundaries of solo performance and new artistic territory. If you’re creating work that explores the specific and intimate relationship between performer and spectator, you’re encouraged to join us.

AUDITIONS
Tuesday, October 28th | 4:30-8:30pm. In-person sign-up begins at 4:00pm.
Saturday, November 1st | 11:00am-2:00pm In person sign-ups begin at 10:30am.
PROCESS
– Fill out THIS FORM
– Show up to Theaterlab during the Open Auditions/Pitch Sessions
– You will be added to the list upon your arrival and given an estimated wait time.
– You will have up to 5 mins to perform and/or pitch your new work.
– We recommend up to 2 minutes performing something in the style of the work you would like to create, (specifically if you are new to Theaterlab), followed by your pitch of the work.
Notification of selected artists:

The 2026 Gallery Series includes:
– $500 residency fee (to use however you like)
– Stage Manager – provided by Theaterlab
– Up to 25 hours of rehearsal in Theaterlab’s Gallery space
– Two public performances
– 2 complimentary tickets per performance
– Access to 5 additional Artist-rate tickets per performance
The Gallery Series will take place in winter/spring 2026.
