Theaterlab Presents Like a Drawing, a performance that explores the essence of spontaneity and instant expression through the fusion of action painting and music, featuring the collaborative talents of Ikue Mori and David Watson. In this performance, music and painting intertwine as the artists respond to sounds and noises while creating art. Theaterlab Presents Haptic Drift x Public Visual, two evenings of live sonic and visual explorations curated by Testu Collective and Toru Izumida. Each night, a different lineup of international artists from Japan, South & North America will create sound and visuals live, using technologies that allow the digital and the organic to coexist. Generative code art, modular synth music, live field recordings and led animation machines are among the unique modes of technology used by each artist to explore patterns in nature, organic lifeforms, physics and brainwaves.

Theaterlab Presents the bi-monthly performance series “THINGS TO COME” returning to the Garment District for a third installment on July 13. Curator Jack Meriwether continues their vision of bringing together emerging and established voices in the New York performance world for an evening of experimentation, community, and play. The series is excited to invite the choreographer Sharleen Chidiac (co-founder, Pageant), poet The Friend (The Late Parade, Liveright), performer Ruby McCollister, and harpist Samantha Feliciano to Theaterlab’s iconic Gallery Space.

Theaterlab Presents THINGS TO COME, a new bi-monthly series bringing the emergent energy of underground performance to Theaterlab’s iconic gallery space in the Garment District. Curator Jack Meriwether is inviting an eclectic roster of performers, writers, and artists together for a salon-style, communal gathering of multidisciplinary, multigenerational experimentation. The goal is to create a space for generating ideas, connections, and social abundance.

My Name Is Jennifer is a durational meditation on queer grief and ancestry.
