Artistic Director, Gia Forakis and Associate Artistic Director, Darya Gauthier presented an Open Studio showing of their newest work, LOVE IN SPACE-TIME: 12 Scenes in Re-Memory.
LOVE IN SPACE-TIME: 12 SCENES IN RE-MEMORY is an original, performance project written by Gia Forakis and under development by GF&CO. The script is an experimental non-linear narrative that aims to create an experience of space-time (also known as the fourth dimension or the time continuum). Scenes overlap, repeat and are layered. Time and space are fluid. The story itself is a woman’s journey through the love and loss of a father and a lover– suggesting that it’s during experiences of love and grief that a doorway into the 4th dimension opens for up for us if we care to walk through. It is a story about what lies on the other side of grief. It is a journey of hope, humor, catharsis and redemption.
The focus of our 2019 Theaterlab HNW residency was to explore the modes of performance (lyrical vs. pedestrian movement) and to experiment with what and how to create an experience of space-time.
GF&CO (Gia Forakis & Company) is a not-for-profit studio-lab dedicated to the experimentation, application, and advancement of the One-Thought-One-Action (OTOA)™ technique through art, performance, and ritual. GF&CO’s MISSION is built upon the premise that the arts are where we encounter our humanity, nurture our civility, and fortify our connection to one another. We aim to do this through our commitment to putting One-Thought-One-Action into action by developing projects and creating events with like-minded artists and producing partners, that remind us to foster something larger than our quotidian sense of self.
