Healing Mined is a magical realism journey through grief and mental illness, ultimately shining as a hopeful story of resilience, love, and the unbreakable bonds of family.
After the death of his wife, Gonzaloâa middle-aged father âwithdraws into a world of dreams, fairytales, and faded memories that bring him moments of peace. In these other worlds, he seeks connection, hoping to feel understood and less alone. But as reality and fantasy begin to intertwine, heâs forced to confront a difficult truth: the comfort heâs been chasing isnât in the past or his dreams but in accepting the uncertain future thatâs waiting for him.
Critically acclaimed composer Natalie Brice (White Rose) weaves a dream-like score into the play, blending it with director Rosie Corrâs dynamic choreography to deepen the characters’ internal worldsâilluminating their turmoil, wonder, and hope.
Content Advisory: Ages 13+. This production explores profound themes, including depression, anxiety, allusions to self-harm and suicide, and family grief.

Luis Carlos De La Lombana (Performer, “Gonzalo (the animal boy)”) is a founder and executive director of La Strada Company, established in New York. A multiple award-winning theater actor in New York, he has received 15 ACE, HOLA, ATI, TALIA, and LATA Awards. The New York Times praised his work, stating, “Mr. De La Lombana has a terrifically rooted and in-the-body presence.” In the U.S., he has appeared in films and television series such as The Blacklist, The Equalizer, and FBI: Most Wanted. In Spain, he co-led the film Las Tierras Altas (The High Lands) and was a National Classical Theater Company member.
Jeremiah Garcia (Performer, âJacobâ) Off-Broadway: Dustin in the three-time Drama Desk-nominated Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical (Playhouse 46), Runka in Hip-Hop Cinderella (New Victory Theatre). He was also selected to perform at the Town Hall as a âBroadway Rising Star.â Other credits: Playlist Performer (Carnival Cruise Line), Ivories (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), Jekyll & Hyde (WPPAC), and Emmett Forrest in Legally Blonde (Bobby G Award Nominee).Television: BroadwayHD/Prime Video (Stranger Sings!), Good Day New York. Amilia Shaw (Performer, âNurse Abby,â âPrincess Abigale,â and âThe Womanâ) is an award-winning actress, singer, and dancer based in New York City. She was most recently awarded Best Supporting Actor in a Play at the 2024 SheNYC festival for her portrayal of The Woman in Mere Waters. She was featured as Alice in the short film Where the Walls Fall Over (prod. Timothy Scott Bogart). Her theatrical credits include: Shakespeare and the Zombie Plague of 1590 Industry Salon as Lady Macbeth (First You Dream Entertainment), New Voices Concert as Anne Miller (Paper Mill Playhouse), I Have Friends! (The Tank), Minotauromachy (Spark Theatre Festival), Loveâs Labourâs Lost (Theatre 315), The Wizard of Oz (Seattle Childrenâs Theatre), R.U.R. A New Musical (Spark Festival NYC).
Rosie Corr (Director-Choreographer) is a passionate director, choreographer, and arts educator with an emphasis on artistry that centers on consent, agency, and humanity. She has worked professionally as an Assistant Director both in NYC and regionally, collaborating with Warren Carlyle on Harmony on Broadway and with Marcia Milgrom Dodge on On Your Feet (Riverside Theatre) and Waitress (Olney Theatre). She also has extensive experience serving as a leading creative team memberârecent work includes Mere Waters (SheNYC, Winner of Best Script and Best Featured Actor, World Premiere Director-Choreographer), Goddess of the Hunt (Workshop Director, Fresh Fruit Festival), and 1776 (Stagedoor Manor, Choreographer). Upcoming: Kittens (Los Angeles, World Premiere) and All the World Wondered (NYTF, NY Premiere).
James Meneses (Playwright/Producer) is a playwright and producer dedicated to creating bold, original works that amplify underrepresented voices and delve deep into the human experience. Recently, he wrote the book and produced the industry reading of Here Is Gone, a sci-fi jukebox musical featuring songs by the Goo Goo Dolls. His plays Dream Fragmentation and While You Wait were produced by the Greenhouse Ensemble in NYC. James is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild and the Musical Theatre Writing Collective. Previously, he was a member of the Greenhouse Ensemble, and Next Stage, a mentorship program led by producer Ken Davenport. James studied playwriting with Julie McKee (HB Studio) and Lia Romeo (ESPA) and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Technology from Alfred State.
Natalie Brice (Composer) is a critically acclaimed composer. She composed White Rose: The Musical (Off-Broadway 2024, London 2025). Film credits include high-quality films for musical theatre students (Love in Bloom, Go With Me). She has served as a piano accompanist (Asher Child, musical theatre improv in LA) and as a music director (Hell on Earth, Happily Even After). She is the author of the pop song Downtown (premiered at Kulak’s Woodshed 2024). Her primary keyboard styles for bands are rock and blues. The mysterious and dreamlike score for Healing Mined has been fun to create. We hope you enjoy the show and gain some insight into the experiences of these characters.
Noah Turner (Music Supervisor, Pianist) is a New York-based pianist, conductor, music director, and arranger. Recently, he has worked as Music Director for Blue Hill Troupe’s Cinderella, Associate Music Director on the International Tour of The Sound of Music in Manila, the Music Assistant on Joy the Musical (with Music Supervisor Andy Einhorn), and Music Director/Conductor of the Jersey Boys 2nd National Tour. He actively works as a music director at cabaret venues throughout the city, such as 54 Below and Green Room 42. Noah received his Masterâs degree in Collaborative Piano from NYU Steinhardt and has a Bachelorâs degree in Composition from SUNY Fredonia.
