La Voix Humaine
Directed by Madeline Whitesell
August 10, 7:30pm
This performance is of Jean Cocteau and Franics Poulenc’s La Voix Humaine. The piece is traditionally directed with realism, but we’re interested in expressing the character’s psychology in the moment through stage picture, lighting, and scenic design in an expressionistic style. Exploring the idea of limerence; how one can build a fantasy of someone in their mind, and how that can suddenly turn into nightmare when the real person’s actions don’t align.
COVID 19: Boosters and KN95 masks are required to enter the venue. Masks will be also available at the door. The safety of our audience and artist is a priority. Thank you for helping us keep Theaterlab a safe space for everyone.
