My Name Is Jennifer is a durational meditation on queer grief and ancestry. Inspired by the visual art and texts of David Wojnarowicz, the music of Arthur Russell, and an episode of MacGyver written by his AIDS-infected uncle in the 90s, Noah Crandell and team deconstruct the relationship between queerness and ephemerality in connection to the AIDS epidemic.
Celebrated visual artist, John Hanning, will also have a new work on view in TheaterLab’s gallery. Frequently exploring themes of anxiety, surveillance, paranoia, the bankrupt morality of religion, commentary of American values, the LGBTQ and AIDS movements, Hanning’s work has been shown internationally at Spritmuseum, Stockholm, Sweden; the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, Los Angeles, CA; and The Art Gallery of Guelph, Guelph, Canada.
When you enter with a timed entry ticket, you may stay, leave, or return for the remainder of this 18 hour tour de force.

COVID-19 policy: As we are still in the midst of a global pandemic, we will be requiring proof of vaccinations at the door. Given the nature of the episodic, multi-hour performance, we are offering a lounge space with concessions. In order to remove your mask and participate in this lounge offering, we ask that audience members self-test for COVID within 48 hours of entering the space. Simply take a picture of your negative test result and show it at the door along with your proof of vaccination. Those who test will be allowed to remain maskless for the entirety of their stay in the theater, if they wish. Folks who do not test are still welcome in the space, but will be asked to remain masked for their entire experience at TheaterLab.
We care about the wellbeing of all who come to Theaterlab. Thank you for understanding and adhering to our COVID-19 policy to keep us all safe.
If you have any questions about our COVID-19 policy, please email us at theaterlab36@gmail.com.
