Maeve’s going to kill herself if she’s not the star of her school play. Aidan’s being sent to a
behavioral boarding school. Wes is getting his GED. Naomi’s the president of the LGBTQ+ club. Genevieve’s going on a hunger strike. None of them want to go home.
When a child does not feel safe at home, and does not feel safe at school, they tend to seek out a third space, such as an extra curricular activity. Third Spaces explores the importance of third spaces for children, as well as the potential ramifications of cuts to NEA and DOE funding.

MEET THE ARTISTS
LOUISE COLIN (Director)
Louise Colin (Director): Louise Colin is a French-Australian director working internationally across New York, Paris, and Australia. Recent New York directing credits include Twilight Bowl (Target Margin Theater), Final Bell (The Tank) and Ohio Play (Soho Playhouse). Internationally, she has associated Ariadne auf Naxos in Berlin, Hush (New Ghosts Theatre Company, Sydney) and Christ Almighty (Sydney Seymour Centre). Most recently she is a SHENYC directing fellow, and a fellow at New York Stage and Film. louisecolin.com / @louise.colin_
OLIVIA HANEY (Maeve)
Liv Haney is absolutely ecstatic to be revisiting Third Spaces following its reading at A.R.T NY! Having just graduated from NYU Tisch with a double major in Drama and Journalism, it has been an absolute joy to work with these incredible artists on this story. She also lived in New Jersey once.
ANAÏS JULLIET (Naomi)
Anaïs Juillet is a theatre artist and writer training at the Experimental Theatre Wing and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute of NYU Tisch. Recent stage credits include: How to Build a Universe (Experimental Theatre Wing), Third Spaces (Re/Venue NYC), search for what i left (Gene Frankel Theatre Festival), Ape the Immortality (Foul Fiend Theatre Troupe), In Memoriam (Experimental Theatre Wing), and Women Of Abnormal Constitution (NYU Tisch StudentWorks). Writing credits: Pragmatism at The Tank, and (upcoming!) Hudsom at Common Sister Co, and as part of NYU Tisch’s Student Works MainStage. Otherwise—you might find Anaïs letting the cat out of the bag, looking at what it dragged in, and also wondering if it’s got her tongue.
HALEY KEIZUR (Producer)
Haley is thrilled to make her theatrical producing debut with Third Spaces and is deeply grateful to Dylan and Louise for welcoming her onto the team, as well as to Theaterlab for their support. Since moving to New York, the theater community has been Haley’s own “third space” — a place of belonging, creativity, and connection — and she couldn’t be more excited to share this show with audiences. This moment is for little Haley, who spent every summer recruiting her cousins into campground productions, and for everyone who has encouraged and championed her along the way. SARAH LIU (Genevieve)
Sarah is a Chinese American actor and avid Letterboxd user. Recent New York theatre credits include CORIOLANUS with Galileo Theater Co, SISTER at the Concord Theatricals Off-Off Broadway Festival, and FIGHT OR FLIGHT at the New York Theater Festival. NYU alum.
WESLEY MEMERY (Wes)
Wesley Memery is pursuing a BFA in Dramatic Writing at NYU Tisch. He gives many thanks to everybody! @wes_memery
JOHN RICOTTA (Aidan)
John Ricotta is an Atlanta raised and New York based actor, singer, and writer, who is currently studying drama at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. He is also a published poet and singer under the stage name “Trerico”, with a new self titled album out now. On both screen and stage, John strives to create multimedia art that engages audiences through a wide variety of artistic mediums. Credits include, 1001 Nights: Love Stories on Death Row, Rent, Little Shop of Horrors, and a recurring role in the Cristi’s Case Crackers series. John is super excited to reprise his role as Aidan. DYLAN SHERMAN (Writer)
Dylan is a failed child actor turned playwright and performer from Brooklyn, NY. She started writing plays when she was fourteen years old, and has since developed work with Soho Playhouse, Manhattan Theatre Club, RE/VENUE, A.R.T. NY, The Tank, Theatre Under St. Marks, Frigid NYC, Paper Kraine, Atlantic Acting School, and Broke People Play Festival. Dylan is a student at NYU Tisch’s Department of Dramatic Writing, where she (naturally) writes about young people and their problems.
